Messer v0.992 is a general purpose sound recorder designed specially
for radio broadcasts recordings, although it can be used for recording
form any source that sound card provides. Built in scheduler allows to
make recording at specified time and, for example, record multiple
radio shows even when you're not at home or sleeping. Messer is able
to automatically engage external application which can convert or
compress just recorded file and even shut down your PC after recording.
Messer supports freeware mp3 encoding libraries - with Messer one can
record sound _directly_ into mp3 format - no huge temporary files
are required, all encoding is done on-the-fly.

Special requirements: For on-the-fly mp3 encoding lame_enc.dll or
bladeenc.dll are required (links provided on Messer's website). Also
quite fast CPU is needed for this job (PII 350 MHz is enough, but
slightly slower units may also work fine).
